The project is anticipated to start next month, and take 18 months to complete. Mr. Malloy said the town was lucky to get the competitive bid because the local project was one of only two municipal construction projects in the state opened at that time. The total proposed fiscal 2018 operating town budgets – including the general fund, water fund, sewer fund, wastewater treatment fun and the country club fund is $98,500,385, an increase of 3.6 percent. The general fund (municipal operating) budget of $84,475,616, a 4.3 percent increase, includes $48,636,484 for the schools. The proposed fiscal 2018 school budget is $2,305,793, or 5 percent more than the current budget. Article 34 would amend the zoning bylaws to establish accessory dwelling units. Such dwellings, also known as in-law apartments, are integrated into single-family homes. Article 26 is for $1.7 million to construct a new cemetery on six acres on Glen and Nourse streets.
